Born in Vienna, I studied literature and art history in Venice, Munich and Frankfurt. I later completed an additional degree in science journalism. While my work as a journalist and editor focuses on rational explorations of the world, my artistic work is about intuitive immersions. Certain themes and concerns are circled until, after many approximations and attempts, an image is suddenly “right”. This results in poetic snapshots that explore certain issues, forms or working methods. Some are completed after one session, others are continued serially, such as the combination of three motifs to form Trypticha or the Origami series.

2023 I took part in a Collage Residency in Sanquhar, Scotland, hosted by Kolaj Institute and was a speaker at Kolaj Fest in New Orleans. Inspired by the community of collage artists I founded Berlinage – the Berlin Collage Residency www.berlinage.berlin , that took place for the first time in may 2024.

My Practice:

Each of my works begins with a movement inside me, an attraction, a reaction to something and with material that falls into my hands. I almost never start with the intention of expressing something specific, I avoid any intention so as not to disturb the process. It is all about the process. Ideally, I enter into an extremely gratifying flow, a state of heightened receptivity, attention and aliveness, in which I experience myself as a medium through which works come into the world, which I then look at in amazement. In this process I clearly feel that something is being added to what I do that is bigger than me, a kind of deep knowing.

This is why I believe that it is possible to make something visible that is also valid for other people, that the “egoistic” action – like the shaman’s trance – brings something to others.
